These polk monitor 10a speakers, built between 1979-1982 (as far as I know) are my first ever home audio purchase. What I wanted from these speakers was a full, robust sound and good bass reproduction without having to buy a subwoofer. I also wanted to be able to play music LOUD without loss in sound quality.

These were the dual 6.5" woofers with a passive radiator and a dome tweeter. The original model 10's had the black tweeter. The later versions had a silver tweeter that sounded better and was much more reliable. I replaced a ton of those old black tweeters. The 10's and 12's were my favorite Polk speakers from that era.
