Probably 3 times more. The monitor 40 speakers are about the same width, slightly deeper and almost twice as tall as the Monitor 30 speakers. I am using them as front speakers on a two speaker stereo system. The Monitor 40 speakers are easy to listen to and a real pleasure. I highly recommend them. Polk Audio really knows their stuff.

Monitor 40's base is 12x7 i am trying to figure out the dimensions of the Sanus BF31 where the speaker sits, i would be using the monitor 40s for surround as well. Most ppl. are saying that Sanus are for small book shelf speakers and monitor look large or medium side compared to my small book shelf Polk T15. thanks.

On the other hand, the stands will put the Monitor 40's at about 45 inches off the floor, just slightly above ear level, and you don't have to worry about fishing speaker cable through your wall. My Monitor 60's are arriving tomorrow to replace the JBL e20's that are on either side of my couch. Keep us posted.
