I guess the rift between Stereophile and Polk is somewhat legendary and have sought out the 11T review that supposedly caused the bad blood for a long time. Just recently I noticed that Stereophile finally has the review up on their website: Stereophile RTA 11T Review. The two major complaints are with the SL2000 and a boomy/smeary midbass.

In this respect, the RTA 11t performed significantly less well than the two much less expensive speakers reviewed this month, the Cambridge SoundWorks Ambiance and the Monitor Audio MA7. The Ambiance may have a less flat tonal balance than the Polk speaker, and it is certainly more "colored" in that sense.

The RTA 11t is mentioned in this 1987 lineup. Here is a Stereophile article from 1990. I may be wrong, but in 1991, the model became the RTA 11TL. I think the differences between the two models can be found on the Polk forums.
