The reason why I ask is because I have the RTi12's bi-amped to my Onkyo 805 with the bass on +10db. Well I was at work today and compared the RTi A9 with the Onkyo 876 reciever with the bass on +10db and I could have sworn there was a subwoofer connected but there wasn't because the subwoofer was selected off on the speaker settings.

December 2008 edited December 2008. The rti a9's are a good all around speaker from the low end to the nice clean mids up to the bright tweeter. Good for both music and ht. Does not need a sub. The rti 10 are goods as well. Has good low end and a little lacking in the midrange department, but otherwise a solid performer.

Polk has replaced the RTi12 with the RTiA9. Polk told me that the difference between the two is moslty cosmetic and the difference is sound is barely noticeable, although there have some minor upgrades. $800 with tax. Ever try to audition speakers at Fry's? Good place to find out how they could sound under the absolute worst conditions.
