I find that using regular headphone settings and turning on CMSS3D on my xfi card helps a bit to make positional sounds like steps to stand out (while screwing mids a bit), but it still is far less than what we had on BF3. I really miss hardware accelerated audio from old games, audio positioning used to be a lot better using creative cards.

I use old school ATH-AD700's with a modmic (version 4.0). Love the build quality and sound that the ad700's provide. I also use a soundblaster z which allows me to mess with my audio settings whenever I want. Overall I am able to achieve great positional audio in all games, not just BF4.

9. Posted July 7, 2015. I have the Astro A50 Headset and they are awesome. It has dolby surround and is important for positional audio in a game like BF4. I tried Audio Technicas ATH-AG1 Premium Gaming Closed headset and they are not fit for FPS games where you need Dolby surround.
