#1 regisso Well-Known Member It's a Powerdvd limitation. You can't play the movie from files on hdd, it must be a dvd or BD disc. You can simulate this with virtual clone drive and imgburn. I have build a Blu-Ray drive (LG) into my HTPC (Win 7-64, ATI 4650) and installed the shipped PowerDVD Software. The HTPC uses a HDMI (1.3) cable connection to the TV (Panasonic 50" Plasma). When I'm watching TV or a DVD or playing music with MediaCenter everything is fine - video and sound are working.

Grab CCleaner or whatever Registry cleaner/scrubber you prefer, uninstall PowerDVD FIRST, and once that's done, clean the Registry totally, then delete every temp file you can find from everywhere (CCleaner can do that also), and then reinstall PowerDVD and try again.
