    Audio quality seems far worse in Powerpoint 2010 than in Powerpoint 2007 when I record narrations. Where are the settings to control the microphone level and the audio quality in PowerPoint 2010? I already set the microphone up from Control Panel -> Sounds ->Recording->Advanced to be the highest quality.

    If you want to end up with a PPT show, then yeah, PPT's audio recording quality is dirt-poor. At one time PPT let you choose the quality level you wanted to record: High (resulting in larger files, of course), Low (for the smallest possible files) or one or two settings in between. They removed that option several versions ago, mystifyingly.

Regarding to your PowerPoint recording video poor quality issue, we did the test and like what you said, we can adjust the Video Quality for the export as a full HD Video File etc, however, there seems has no out-of-box way to adjust the video quality.

    I am not recording the audio in powerpoint - when I did that, I found the audio quality to be too low for my needs. I have recorded the audio using audio production software (Reaper). I export it as a wav file, and insert that wav file into Powerpoint. Whether it sounds acceptable might be a matter of how attuned one's ear is to the deterioration.
