I use the Audiobox for my (preamp-less) acoustic guitar (which has a K&K Pure Mini pickup installed) as I needed an extra input - so the Audio box was the likely candidate. It goes from the Audio box into a summing mixer, then through my 31 band EQ, then through my Presonus Bluetube V2 preamp, then to my Crown 2000 PA stereo amp.

I got the same issue with a brand new AudioBox USB 96 STUDIO. The mic gain has to be set on the two last levels to get a signal, even if singing very close to the mic ,wich is a Presonus M7 provided in the studio Kit. Then signal is enough for recording but with a lot of noise and the parasite capture of ambiant sounds.

Therefore, I set the Presonus Audiobox 22VSL as the default device in the recording tab, but I checked "listen to this device" with level 0, another device/audio interface. In this case, it's not necessary to adjust the volume level to 0, checking "listen to this device" it's enough. I hope it helps. Post a reply.
