I got the same issue with a brand new AudioBox USB 96 STUDIO. The mic gain has to be set on the two last levels to get a signal, even if singing very close to the mic ,wich is a Presonus M7 provided in the studio Kit. Then signal is enough for recording but with a lot of noise and the parasite capture of ambiant sounds.

I have eliminated guitar plugins and usb cables as culprits. Seems to only happen when I have respective gain amps/pedals etc selected even worse with high gain amps. This buzz-buzz-buzzing noise actually varies when I hold the audiobox and move it around on the desk, not eliminating it much at all but indeed alterting the intensity of it.

I had a similar problem on my MacBook Pro and I just worked through it with tech support with a resolution. In my case the solution was to turn the volume down on Youtube Music. When I did that, at about 90% volume the sound cleared up. Not sure what the technical explanation is but it sounded like I was overloading the input on my Audiobox USB 96.
