USB audio interfaces for Linux. There’s a lot of USB audio interfaces available but many of them aren’t fully functional under Linux, or even don’t work at all. Fortunately the situation is improving. As iOS and Android now support USB Audio Class 1 and 2 (UAC1 and UAC2), manufacturers are producing more standard USB Audio devices for use with iPhone and iPad …

Linux is a superior platform for professional audio production: stable, efficient, and you don’t get gouged for software licenses. You have to be careful to select audio hardware that is well-supported on Linux, but this is less of a problem than it used to be. Look for USB audio interfaces that don’t need custom proprietary drivers, but stick to the USB spec like they’re …

Updated list of Linux compatible audio interfaces ...

Some additions for the list of devices I own and tested: [1] Behringer UMC404 works well under Linux even with low latency (64 frames) settings. I don't know what the situation is with the UMC404HD or how well it works under Linux. [2] RME9652 HDSP (PCI) audio side works OK but sending MIDI to its integrated MIDI interfaces cause xruns under Linux. This xrun …

Re: Linux Mint & pro audio interfaces in late 2017. The only mention of Linux I could find on the antelopeaudio site involved Ubuntu 13.10, which is a bit too old for my liking. Bacwards compatibility doesn;t exist in Linux to any great extent. I'd suggest the tech support of the companies you mention but don't expect great support.

AP_in_DC (Apeterson) September 29, 2018, 9:17pm #1. It may be time to edit the Requirements web page, where audio interfaces under Linux are recommended. Among the top choices shown on that page are four M-Audio DELTA models that are considered “legacy” by the manufacturer, and as such are no longer available other than on the used or NOS ...

Any interface that is a USB compliant audio device will work in linux with no extra software. Focusrite scarlett is usb 2.0 compliant and had a great mic preamp. I used it before I was even on linux tho, so I'm not a scarlett apologist. Lol. Now, whether a device is …

I am curious if we have any decent audio interfaces for pro use that has official linux support. This thread is not about which devices that will work on linux, there are plenty of those already. It is more like which companies that takes linux serious and are worth looking into and supporting by buying their products. If such ones exists.
