I just began using the 10C as well, and I also noticed the same problem. Way too much mic gain audio. In the SMH-10's, Vers 2 at some point (I think around firmware ver4.1 and above) there was a MIC boost option, and when you had it unchecked, the audio was perfect. I suspect that the heavy mic gain might be related to SIRI performance.
