Personally i use beat detective over elastic audio. I find there are to many artifacts with elastic audio. However beat detective works best on short rhythmic parts. I also use it with crossfade. But i still think the best way is to manually fix the part by ear. Meaning cutting up the regions with the issues and moving them around to fit the rest.

You guys DO know that elastic audio in pro tools is NOT phase coherent?! For that matter everything multitrack with elastic audio does NOT work. Check for yourself.
