"Project One" was a brand sold by Playback a Stereo Chain in the Chicagoland area which went under in the late 70's or very early 80's. It was owned by Shelby Young and all of the equipment branded that way was made to his specs in either Japan, China or Korea. The "Flagship Store" was on Roosevelt & Addison in Villa Park in the mall there.

The Playback stores and Project/One products were started by the Allied Radio people after Radio Shack bought out Allied Radio. I was told this by a manager of a Playback store in Ft. Wayne Indiana.
