PS Audio has just released new DAC that is the successor to the D-Link III and is in the same price range as the D-Link III. It is very new and have seen no reviews of it yet. That should make a used D-Link III even more affordable. As good as this DAC is, I wonder how much better PS Audio's new DAC might be compared to the D-Link III.

Re: PS Audio Digital Link III DAC. I suspect the designer wanted to run the DAC chip at its optimal rate. Defeating the SRC would thus degrade the DAC's behavior. I think most of the manufacturers including PS Audio and Benchmark Media do upsampling or Asynchronous Reclocking with Upsampling to reduce jitter.
