I do know that the PS Audio IV has a remote power transformer, unfortunately NOT toroidal, so it spews out a mighty hum field; thus the need for it to be far away from the pickup cartridge. However, the AC from the transformer is sent to the main chassis, where the bridge rectifier and filter caps reside.
