The problem with fuses blowing disappeared when I took the P1000 out of my system. Rather than put it in the garage I traded it in for the Premier, which is supposed to handle 1500 watts.

The P1000 helps reject the conducted emi noise. The balanced XLR cable will help with the radiated emi. The combination of the two should reduce your noise problem but if it doesn't, you might a consider changing to a higher quality dimmer. Dimmers produce the most noise at 50% brightness.
