The I2S format has separate clocks and data and lower jitter and better performance if handled properly. I2S is the native format inside every CD player.

PS audio digital audio DAC device etc can be recived I2S signal through the HDMI terminal . With this, all digital audio signal with the purest state can be output to the outside of OPPO BD player. Moreover, digital signals can be transmitted even when playing SACD or DSD files. (Can not be transmitted by a normal SPDIF format )

This is an analysis of I²S interface to see if it is superior to S/PDIF or USB interconnects for audio DACs. From what I recall, it was PS Audio that popularized I²S for external DAC connections. Phillips (now NXP) had invented I²S years early as an internal protocol to route audio. It was not and has not been blessed for external use over cables.

I2S is a short haul interface meant for use on PCB's. You'll have to feed it with a long haul interface like S/PDif, TOSLink, USB, AES/EBU etc... You are missing the fundamentals of how the I2S interface is meant to be used.
