After six months of searching, I found a PS Audio Ultralink II (non-HDCD). After listening to all of this I came to the following conclusions: 1. Bits are not bits. ANY combination beat out the Sony mid-fi player quite handily. Music was no longer a collection of notes, but a collection of sounds and harmonies.

Hey All!! I am seriously considering a PS Audio Ultralink DAC. Obviously, it's a used model, being the first version of this unit. Just wondering if anyone has any specific experience with this model. I have read several times that the signal strength is impressive. LOL I don't have schematics for my Ultralink II or the Lambda - even PS Audio can't locate a copy. Ultralink II owners are SOL as this DAC is totally different than the Ultralink, and there appears to relatively little in common with it except that both use the UA D20400 hybrid dac.
