Do automatic voltage regulators work? December 11, 2018. by Paul McGowan. An automatic voltage regulator can provide long term stability for the house when voltages are unsteady, but are they needed or even desirable in a high-end stereo system?

PS-1 High & Low Voltage Regulator Kit - GlassWare Audio Design
https://glass-ware.stores.yahoo.net/ps1kit.html
The PS-1 series regulator Rev-E is an all-solid-state regulator designed to deliver between +100V to +300V worth of B+ voltage. The PS-1 regulator maintains a fixed DC voltage and it works to eliminate any AC perturbations on its output. The PS-1 regulator uses an LD1085 as the voltage regulator and an IXCY 10M45S constant-current source to shield the LD1085 from the high …

So, the P1200 acts as a voltage regulator besides generating clean AC. The idea behind cleaning up the AC this way is that no filter can really get rid of all the crud that wall AC has. We are all connected to miles and miles of AC wires that hang from telephone poles, up there where they can act as antennae for everything that is being sent from TV and radio transmitters, cell …
Smoothing ripples – PS Audio

In a regulator, the output is fixed and the gain varies to eliminate changes in the input voltage being reflected by changes in output voltage. It also varies to negate changes in the output voltage as the load draws more or less current. Once designed into a …
Shunt or Not - Looking for the Ultimate Audio Voltage ...

I had been looking for the ultimate audio voltage regulator for a long time. But thanks to the well-known Norwegian audio designer Erno Borbely (living in Germany at the moment), it became a reality! Testing more shunt models with selected components and numerous listening tests led to one current-source-fed super shunt, developed by Erno.

PS Audio PPP its amazing, but sadly the LED letters/numbers are not as Big as new furman P-1800. the THD meter its amazing, but does not have the Amp Meter of some newer Furmans. the Voltage Regulation of PS Audio PPP its much better than Furman transformer voltage regulation, maybe the Monster AVS2000 Pro could be as good.
Audiogon Discussion Forum

Is it enough to merely provide a stable voltage, or are the circuits typically optimized for a specific voltage, such as 120V? I use a PS Audio P300 to power my CD player, and Pre-amp, and varying the voltage from 115V to 120V to these low powered devices doesn't seem to affect performance (although I haven't really played with it extensively).
