My PS3 is connected to my Bravia 46x3100 via HDMI. The HDMI is used for video only, with the PS3 audio output via optical cable to my amp. I'd occasionally notice that when the PS3 switches automatically between 1080p and 720p depending on the source, there would sometimes be a "Pop" sound coming from the Bravia (the amp is not switched on).
