From the PS3 main menu: 1. Settings->Sound Settings->Audio Output Settings. 2. Change it from HDMI to Digital Out (Optical). No you don't. There is a setting to output audio to both A/V and HDMI. I know this because turtle beach headphones do both mic and game audio and uses the A/V for the game audio. You can set the PS3 to dual output so there is no need to switch back and forth. izza20 8 years ago #6.
