All this talk about PS3 games being "optimized for it", darn bullshit. Basically it comes down to this: 1. The hardware in the PS3 cannot keep up so good anymore, it's aging. 2. It's harder to develop games for 1 PPE and 6 SPE's than it is to develop for a TriCore PowerPC machine. Maybe it's either, maybe it's a mix of both.

However, I managed to finish it before moving on to Bioshock 2 but I experienced a lot of stuttering during the intro cutscene and even during the actual game play, the audio messes up a lot, kinda like those old CDs that rewind short bits of audio for a few times before moving on (sorry can't explain it better ._.)

My 120 GB Slim is about 4 years old now and I noticed it has been stuttering/skipping lately during gameplay. It is happening on both the PS3 disc games, as well as downloadable PSN games, so I don't think it's the laser. I ran the System File Restore and Rebuild Database options last night thinking it would help. Now it's even worse then ever.

Connect the external hdd, fire up your backup manager, mount the games & test them. The PS3 was never supposed to run games using an emulated disc based on a file stored on the same hdd as the installed game files.
