The way round this is to set you setting for the hdmi output of your ps3 to "bitstream" by doing this the amp will allow the full 6.1 dts soundtrack to be sent to your to decode and play, and if you want to watch a blueray movie and you select the uncompressed 5.1 the ps3 will then send the audio as uncpompressed 5.1.
