I have a PS3 hooked up via HDMI to my Denon 591 and after the last PS3 update only my 5.1 audio quit working. If I switch Netflix's audio to stereo or if I choose a non 5.1 title, everything works. The Denon shows "Multi In" on the display. A call to Netflix was no help, they suggested my HDMI cable was bad (tried two others, same problem).

I called Sony today and spoke with 3 different tech people and they all said to get DD 5.1 from the PS 3 I have to use an optical audio cable. I find it hard to believe the PS3 won't support DD 5.1 using HDMI especially when the sound seetings in the PS 3 menu says it does and I have set them that way.

Netflix outputs Dolby 5.1 surround sound, and my TV doesn't convert that sound to the rate that the receiver understands (it's sort of old).
