audio - How do I fix pulseaudio stuttering? - Unix & Linux ...

After about 1 second, the audio will start stuttering. On any other system, using the same settings with amsynth, the sawtooth wave will not stutter. OS is Debian. Sound card is HDA Intel. I've tried doing: realtime-scheduling = no in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf. tsched=0 does not help also, it just makes the problem worse.

Spent some time trying to configure Airplay through Raop/PulseAudio on the new Raspberry Pi 3 using Raspbian Jessie with very little success. I would highly recommend forked-daapd:. This is a much updated version of the original forked-daapd 0.19, a Linux/FreeBSD DAAP (iTunes) media server with support for AirPlay devices, Apple Remote (and compatibles), MPD, Spotify, mp3 …

Shairport-sync can be the user that initializes Pulseaudio. The earlier steps were for the former audio service – ALSA. Go ahead to install pulseaudio. sudo apt-get install pulseaudio pulseaudio-module-zeroconf avahi-daemon. You can configure Pulseaudio as a system or user service. I prefer the user option so that shairport-sync can initiate pulseaudio

Apparently, it has something to do with something called S/PDIF, because it turns on and off while the audio cracks. Also, Pavucontrol frequently says "Establishing connection to pulseaudio" while this happens. With KDE, there is a constant message of changing devices, that says "Built-in-Audio" (has seen in the video).

@felinira You are right, this should have been already upstreamed, but I do not see this happening like ever ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I don’t think that there is hope for PulseAudio mostly because I think that PA maintainers are a bunch of incompetent morons (read here if you’d like to know why). I have moved to PipeWire on my other computer and I’m not looking back.

Re: [Solved] PulseAudio and AirPlay. The problem is that Pulseaudio's RAOP module only supports streaming over TCP, whereas the Apple TV (and most other AirPlay receivers) only supports UDP streams (see the AirTunes spec ). Since Pulseaudio doesn't send the expected header during the SETUP phase (instead, since it only supports TCP streams, it ...
AirPlay stuttering and audio loss - Apple Community
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8364621
Stuttering and loss of audio with AirPlay. I recently upgraded the OS on my MacBook Air to 10.13.4. (13-inch, 2017). Also upgraded my Apple TV (3rd gen) to tvOS 11.3 (15L211). Since these updates, it appears that stuttering and audio loss, when using AirPlay, is a consistent problem. Many remedial suggestions have been tried but without success.

Now to every time you want to use an AirPlay speaker you need to run your new pulseaudio by doing these two things: kill all existing instances of pulseaudio and run the new one (from the pulseaudio-raop2 directory): pkill pulseaudio ./src/pulseaudio -n -F src/default.pa -p $(pwd)/src/ --log-time=1 -vvvv 2>&1 | tee pulse.log
AirPlay Stops, Stutters, or Plays Intermittently? How-To ...
https://appletoolbox.com/fix-airplay-stops/
The main reason for Airplay to start stuttering is sourced by dual band mode wifi setup or overlapping WiFi clouds. The streaming apps (protocols) are very sensitive to switching between WiFi bands and/or WiFi clouds.

Stuttering and audio interruptions.
