As i understood, the config option alternate-sample-rate should make pulseaudio switch to a different sample-rate when there is only a stream connected to the output that matches that value. I prefer to keep the default to 44100 to hear music and just switch to 48000 when i watch movies. So, to test, i killed everything using pulseaudio and tried to watch a movie …
