I have a Nexigo N60 1080p FHD Webcam with a built-in microphone. The webcam works fine, but I cannot get the microphone to work. You don't want your HDMI to be a source (a recording device), sinks (an output device) can be queried with. pacmd list-sinks.

Thanks @guiverc for your reply. After upgrading to kernel 5.8.1 my computer's integrated speakers do not work anymore. My earpods however are recognized, I can talk and listen to music through my earpods' mics.
