It seems, that even thought the operating system sees the sound card, it is not available to Pulseaudio, for some reason: Code: Select all. antti@buster:~$ pacmd list-cards 0 card (s) available. Alsa-base is deprecated, so I can't re-install it. I tried purging and re-installing Pulseaudio, but that did not fix the problem.

The second card listed in /proc/asound/cards is a TV tuner (never used), so don't consider it. I think is a problem related to alsa, because i have no sound at all, even in console. As I said before, alsamixer gives me only one channel (beep, operating as usual) when I select (F6) the intel card. Sorry for my English, I'm Italian
