I am installing Fedora 13 on my new eeePC. I installed skype on it and made a test call and couldn't hear my voice. My mic works great with Sound Recorder so it's got to be a skype issue. When stopping the PulseAudio server and starting skype without it, skype works great.

When making a test call , skype mic works just fine , I can hear the record played, but when calling to users they cannot hear me , the mic doesint work this problem appeared after some updates on Fedora 26 , dont know if it skype or pulse audio or alsa problem.

It looks like this is specifically a problem of Skype with PulseAudio. Skype would be gradually muting your microphone when you speak to it in a loud voice, and finally mute the internal mic totally. The microphone works well (tested with VLC's capture mode), but Skype won't catch any sound. Only PulseAudio is listed in Skype's configuration as microphone option. Amplifying the input audio to the very top (>100%) manages to get some sound, but it's distorted and still almost inaudible. Solutions tested without success:
