pulseaudio sink always suspended - Unix & Linux Stack Exchange
https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/114602/pulseaudio-sink-always-suspended
As soon as an application tries to output sound the state changes to SUSPENDED and stays that way. "pactl suspend-sink 0 0" does not change the state. I can only get it to IDLE by restarting pulse and the cycle starts again. After a reboot the problem persists. pulseaudio Share Improve this question edited Feb 11 '14 at 8:03
Pulseaudio source suspended, high CPU and journal spam ...

Pulseaudio source suspended, high CPU and journal spam. Hello, I currently have an Juli@ XTe soundcard installed. On random occasions the following happens: * Sound input stops, pacmd says the device is suspended. * The journal gets spammed with the following message, producing gigabytes of log files: pulseaudio [856]: E: [alsa-source-ICE1724] alsa …
Pulseaudio: sink suspended, cause: idle - Ask Ubuntu
https://askubuntu.com/questions/1066561/pulseaudio-sink-suspended-cause-idle
'Suspended' and 'Idle' is usual if no sound playing. USB device is set for Digital audio playback (spdif) Realtek ALC3232 is set for Analog Stereo Playback. I suspect you probably want to change USB device to Analog Playback same as other device? If so, got to pavucontrol --tab 5 (Pulseaudio Volume Control Configuration tab)
linux - Pulseaudio - no source - Stack Overflow
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/70017593/pulseaudio-no-source
The issue is that pulseaudio lists the card and the output (sink), but only lists a monitor of the sink as the only input (source). The card also only has profiles for output. I've been using pulseaudio in my application for the board and would like to get it to recognize the microphone. My current solution involves an external codec over USB ...

module-bluetooth-device unsuspends sinks and sources ...
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pulseaudio/pulseaudio/-/issues/340
The acquire variable is set to true if the bluetooth audio state changed to "playing". This can happen without pulseaudio requesting it, so if we want to have strict equivalence "sink/source suspended" == "audio state is 'playing'" (and I think we want that), then it makes sense that module-bluetooth-device unsuspends the sink/source.
command line - Get active sink in PulseAudio - Unix ...
https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/547899/get-active-sink-in-pulseaudio
Show activity on this post. As PulseAudio (amazingly) doesn't provide any simple query commands, I'm parsing the output from pacmd list-sinks to get the index of the active sink. However, I'm not sure what lines actually indicate which sink is active. I know that the index line has an asterisk in front of it if it's the default sink.
