When I restart pulseaudio pactl shows the sink as IDLE. As soon as an application tries to output sound the state changes to SUSPENDED and stays that way. 'Suspended' and 'Idle' is usual if no sound playing. USB device is set for Digital audio playback (spdif) Realtek ALC3232 is set for Analog Stereo Playback. After booting the headphones volume is normal (100% in PulseAudio is the same as 100% in Windows). In some cases full volume in PulseAudio is a lot quieter (about 40% of the normal volume), but reconnecting the headphones usually solves this.
