I have a wintv pvr 250 and get at this forum a hint to use mplayer and ivtv-tune to adjust mplayer. I played around with this and find out how to set different channels, that is fine. Once I had sound as well, but that was more or less by incident. The actual status is, video from all the channels, but no sound and I don't know hoow to continue.
