Used the PVR-350 to capture old VHS and VHS C tapes to digital mpeg format files using an AMD xp 2800+ pc. A PVR-250 should work just as well. The video output quality is excellent and no problems with audio sync as the PVR 350 also captures the audio. The PVR 350 card does the encoding work so you don't need a very powerful computer.

If it's relevant, raw recordings from the HD-PVR (via TME) have an audio delay of -119ms (not saying it's out of sync, just that that is the delay automatically put in there to keep it in sync), but not after smartrender outputing from VRD - there is no longer a delay, though the files continue to play back in sync.

I tried to cut commercials out of my Hauppauge PVR 350 captures with both nanoEdit and MPEG-VCR. nanoEdit was inaccurate and gave audio sync problems when trying to merge files. MPEG-VCR always gave audio sync problems. The greater the number of cuts, the worse the problem.
