These R40's by Polk Audio came through really nice. Great professional look, and outstanding mid and highs for movies and metal music. The speakers were designed soley for mid's and high's and that is what they deliver. Must own a subwoffer to make these work to their potential.

I couldn't pass up the $69 shipped price. I think it will be a good start for their audio, and only $115. I've owned both the R40's and R50's and they perform similarly. To be honest, I actually preferred the R40's a little bit over the R50's. I think that $100 is worth it for the pair, as long as they're in really nice condition. As far as entry-level towers go, these are pretty strong. You will need a subwoofer if you plan to use them for HT.
