About the same time the older Pi I lost it's LAN port and was replaced with a newer model. Previously audio (incl. analogue) had been perfect, so hard to track down the cause. I'm using a cheap DAC between Sony optical out port and Marantz but It is only audio from the Pi that is bad, TV, DVD-R, CDs etc are all okay.
