Over the years of ownership of the SR-71b I found that I was not using the 1/8" output at all, which meant wasted space on the front panel. Ray Samuels apparently also found that many people using portable amps with 1/8" outputs were mostly using portable headphones, and that most people using the SR-71b were using full-size balanced headphones.
