Reading timecode data from an audio track - Adobe …

Premiere Pro only reads timecode from BWF files. It cannot read SMPTE audio timecode. You’re looking at a tool like auxTC that will read audio timecode then convert/embed it into a Quicktime TC track (maybe someone else can chime in to confirm 100% that PPro reads a Quicktime with embedded timecode, I don’t have a file to test at the moment).

So after shooting I got some audio and video tracks, where in left channel is normal audio and in the other channel should be some timecode information (which sounds like "bzzzz"), is there any way, without using external programs, how to read the timecode information from this audio noise track and somehow set it to the whole file? Thanks a lot,

LTC is straightforward, so If nothing else, you could just scan the audio stream for LTC data, as documented on wikipedia. Each 80 bit frame ends with 0011 1111 1111 1101, just scan for that byte sequence to synchronize, then cast the buffer data starting after that sync sequence to be an array of 80 bit struct timecode_t elements.
Reading aux timecode with Premiere Pro - Video Production ...

I have a video clip with an audio track that has a recording of SMPTE linear timecode. I would like to apply a real timecode to the video, derived from this audio track so that I can more easily sync up the video to an audio clip later on. I've read that older versions of Premiere Pro can't handle timecode in audio this way.

comp.dsp | How to decode SMPTE timecode from LTC audio track?
https://www.dsprelated.com/showthread/comp.dsp/35151-1.php
Do you need help acquiring the audio track (e.g. with a soundcard) or do you already have it and now need to decode it? Assuming the latter, you definitely want to take a look at the SMPTE format specification. I would start with converting the audio waveform into a 1-bit binary code, i.e. every sample becomes either a 0 or a 1.
Timecode in Audio Track, Premiere : editors

Premiere can't read audio SMPTE timecodes by itself. You need to use software like AuxTC to convert the audio timecode to BWF files which you can then import as audio files with timecode, link them up to your video clips, and then you're good to sync. 2. …

The Tentacle Sync "Sync Software" for Mac OS X allows you read the LTC from the embedded audio tracks in the XAVC file, thereby updating the file timecode, and then you can re-wrap the XAVC from MXF into MOV, by exporting audio and video as "pass-through."

Use Media Composer. Apply a tape name then use the command "Read Audio Timecode" (that command should still exist, I think in the hamburger menu) That's what happens when someone on Kickstarter doesn't fully understand end user support and locks you into their software ("MXF" is not simply a format, for instance).
