Cook data is encapsulated in RealMedia files which transport type specific data needed by different codecs. Cook requires 8 bytes of type specific data for monophonic audio and 16 bytes for stereo data. Something occurred to me, so I went to my ffdshow audio decoder config, and set it to use libavcodec to decode Cook audio. That didn't help though, and I'm not sure if it even should have. Another interesting thing, I just renamed the RMVB file to MKV, and it played fine.

Old RealVideo (.rm) files play well as video in RealPlayer, but will not convert to another Real video format (.rv) or another video format (Ex. mp4) using Realplayer Converter. When loading into Realplayer Converter the video file is identified as an audio file!
