Uninstalling the realtek audio drivers is an exercise in futility, reboot and their back. We can override the driver by manually putting in the Microsoft HD Audio drivers, but the issue now randomly resurfaces irrelevant of the installed driver. The standard support fix of latest firmware, latest driver, latest patches flat out will not work.

Replied on May 26, 2011. I had the same issue. In the end the only way I could get rid of it was to uninstall the audio device through the control panel > device manager. When I rebooted to complete the uninstall the audio device reinstalled cleanly and the unwanted reverb was gone. Just reinstalling the audio driver over the existing driver ...
