AMD Realtek on board audio states the HDMI is not plugged in, but get video on screen. I can not get the Realtek on board audio to use the HDMI output. Its plugged in and was working fine, but I had a major malfunction with the OS. Reinstalled Win 7 ultimate x64 Sp1 but can't get the HDMI drivers to install again.

AMD audio is through hdmi and your monitor. So realtek is the one you want to use. It is illogical to use a monitor as an audio pass through and most people have better audio devices than 2w speakers that the majority of monitors come with. If you are using TV audio then that would be the only exception.

Actually, I'm using a DisplayPort cable (1.2a). So far is working good. I wanted to test AMD High Definition Audio, to eliminate Realtek drivers, which could improve system stability and maybe who knows peformance, given the fact that AMD sound cannot be disabled, because is part of the graphic card.
