Then there was a popup by the Realtek HD Audio Manager (pic1) that said something like is this device a Speaker, Headphone, Headset or Microphone. if you have the Realtek speaker icon near clock and date, you can click it to open the Realtek control panel, then click on the little wrench icon. normally the option to have the popup is here. is the Realtek icon is missing, press windows key and then type control panel, click on control panel and then double click on Realtek HD audio manager.
