Re: Red light from headphone jack Macbook Pro. I had a MacBook 2,1 a while back. I had this problem, but it wasn't caused by software. Instead, the little switch in the headphone jack was stuck down, and apparently it thought that there was an optical cable stuck in there. I used a toothpick to free the switch and it went away.
