Re: Audio FFT Analysis in Resolume 3 Post by DAS BEN » Tue Dec 09, 2008 11:56 i experienced the audio analysis in resolume 2 as too nervous. it woks fine with drum and bass, but its more influenced of the overall volume, instead of picking up the snare or the bassdrum. it has to be less chaotic and more smooth.
FFT - Resolume

FFT is used in Arena and Avenue to get the amplitude (loudness) of a set frequency band or range. When a big fat kick is coming, the 10 to 200 hertz frequency bands are likely to spike. You might know FFT already from Resolume Arena and Avenue. It is the setting that makes your visuals respond to incoming audio.

audio fft in resolume only works when I change the volume. I'm running Arena 4.1.11 on Win7. The program doesn't react at all to audio input unless I quickly change the volume. Then the little visualizer near the parameter I'm trying to animate jumps up and down like normal for about a second before going back down to zero.

The only way it will work is if that device you're outputting audio is recognized in Resolume. Then, you can try adjusting the gain or increasing the levels of your MIDI device (that I'm assuming is sending and audio signal). r/vjing. Welcome to vjing. 14.0k.
