VirtualDub - resyncing audio? - VideoHelp Forum

This can happen from framerate changes or bad cuts and pastes or a few other operations. Most times I demux out the audio and correct the length in Audacity, then mux it back with the audio. I leave VD open during this time, then it's easy to mux back in the corrected audio and 'Direct stream copy' the repaired file.

Virtualdub captures a huge amount of data. Make sure to do the following: Disable audio playback during recording. Turn the volume meter instead (audio -> Volume meter). Capture -> Timing -> Resync mode -> Do not resync; You should have large space on your hard disk; You must use compression.

VirtualDub documentation: Capture - virtualdub.org

The audio isn't in sync in the capture file. It's what we get for putting audio and video capture on separate clocks. If you are running VirtualDub 1.4c or earlier, check the Knowledge Base for a possible workaround if your sound card isn't very accurate. (This problem will be fixed in V1.4d.)

With Virtualdub, before I messed with the 'timing' options, the video and audio were perfectly in sync, every single time. Of course I was getting some duplicate fields, but I thought I could merge the audio from the file with duplicate with the video from the file that wasn't in sync. And it works, both files having the same exact number of ...

    https://forum.speeddemosarchive.com/post/audio_pitch_issues_with_virtualdub.html
Tranquilite, I found the option you mentioned. It was under Capture -> Timing, and under the Resync Mode option, it had selected "Sync audio to video by resampling the audio to a faster or slower rate." Why that's even an option I do not know. But I changed it to "Do not resync between audio and video streams." Hopefully this will fix the issue ...
