My tube rolling experience is pretty limited but I like the Mullard better than the JJ; less edge, smoother, if I recall correctly. NOS ones are on the expensive side but it sounds like Rogue and Upscale Audio agree that changing the preamp tube will impact Cronus Magnum's sound the most and Mullards are very nice tubes.

The Cronus Magnum II has 4 power KT-120 tubes, 3 12AU7 tubes and 2 12AX7 tubes. The center 12AU7 is the pre-amp tube that you roll first because it affects the sound the most. I rolled it with a NOS Mullard CV4003 form Kevin Deal at Upscale Audio in California and it improved the sound dramatically from the stock JJ's.
