The Magnum version of Tempest integrated is Rogue Audio's Hot Rod version of the Tempest and from what I have heard, it is worth every penny of the extra $500. This integrated gives you what you expect from tubes in the mid range, while providing real power to drive real speakers (Rogue gives you both 8 and 4 ohm taps).

This is a great piece of audio gear. Different from my CJ preamp in that essentially what Rogue offers is a passive pre in the chasis of a power amp. In terms of sound quality, I do not miss my former CJ gear. I guess the bottom line on the Rogue Tempest II (mine is the Magnum version) is that it is an excellent musical solution for anyone.
