If you want to fit an aftermarket stereo, you may want to make the steering wheel audio controls work with that stereo. I had a lot of trouble sourcing the correct adapter leads, but finally got it with help from Autoleads after measuring the resistance across the steering wheel controls. The lead you need is the PC99-X30 from Autoleads.

On the steering wheel I have a the stereo controls on the left, and the cruise control on the right. The stereo controls do not work at all - i.e. nothing happens to the volume or the CD when I press any of the buttons. The cruise control buttons do work, but only to set the cruise control and to speed it up (the top button).
