Posted August 10, 2007. Sounds like the Dell version doesn't support AC3, but you should still be able to burn a DVD. Open your project and go to File/Project Settings. Make sure the audio is set for LPCM. Uses more space, but any DVD player can play it.

Have used Roxio Easy CD and DVD Creator 6 to back-up many DVDs ripped with DVD Decrypter or DVDShrink without a problem. Virtually all have AC3 format (a few were done with DTS). Have had no problems, use "Disk Creator Classic", drag the VIDEO_TS folder to the project and burn. The Roxio S/W was included with the Plextor 708a burner.

My issue, that Roxio has not been able to resolve, is that my version of EMC 7 will not play audio when I import (open) a video file that contains AC3 audio into VW. My EMC 7 is a retail boxed version (Not included with the PC or with a DVD) that I purchased at a local electronic retailer (Yellow tag).

audio . AC3 48000hz 256 kb/s 29.97 frames/s 720 x 480. So if i burn at these setting, there should be no degradation of quality? What is I was encoding audio at another codec and/or stream, will that degrade video also. I believe I was spec. 128k to "free up" space for video.

The filter is only for listening to ac3, it has no effect on ripping & burning (copying) a dvd which contains ac3/dd audio. Roxio will NOT copy commercially released dvd's on it's own because of copy protection. Most people here will not even let anything roxio near their pc's. A set top player should have no problems with AC3, though. If that was a commercial DVD you used with Shrink, it should have had compliant AC3 audio. A home made DVD may not. Shrink should have passed the audio through with no changes. I would also recommend ImgBurn for burning with Shrink. Roxio and Nero programs aren't that popular …
