what i think i'm going to do is take the audio out from the computer and get an adapter for stereo to rca like you said. I will run RCA compression fittings over 2 RG6 cables to my sony DAV-HDx265 surround sound. Do you know where i should look for this stereo to RCA adapter? Thanks for the help.

As for RG6/59 versus shielded twisted pair for audio: RG6 has much better noise rejection over long runs, which should not matter much in a home audio setup. The real difference is input impedence. The crimp on Canare connectors maintain the 75 Ohm impedence (which the source and receiver are expecting) all the way through the tip.

RG-6 over RG-59 for anything other than RF use. For runs of component interconnect in the same rack, I'll agree. RG-6 will typically have a lower dB loss per foot than RG-59. The dielectric for RG-6 is thicker resulting in a physically larger cable, but meaning the leakage for a given type of dielectric is lower.

Hey basically I'm agreeing that RG6 is great for a digital audio cable. I just like to try things out. 89259 is an RG59 with a 22 awg center conductor. Worse for long runs than RG6. Very good materials. I tried a few cable swaps and thought I might have heard a difference.

If it has digital audio in, use that over coax (SPDIF, orange RCA connector on DTV box). I've successfully run it much farther than 30M on RG6. If it doesn't, you're stuck with either some sort of modulator or digital encoder-/decoder set.
