Rythmik may have also established that the DS1500 driver is perfectly happy with their 600W amp, or at least that the extra headroom is of benefit. It's certainly more expensive than it once was, but still cheap if you compare to something like a Velodyne DD (assuming this is a valid comparison and accepting that you need to add the cost of an SMS-1 too).

I can't comment on Rythmik's Direct Servo sub but I will comment on the way he does business. I bought a one of his 350SE (?) plate amps and Brian offered superb customer service. The amp works and sounds great and his follow up was exceptional. I highly recommend both Brian and the products he sells.

The fully adjustable phase of the plate amps, extra goodies on the Rythmik, and that their mounted on the sub itself, might be of use given the (to be subs placement and type design) you build. Only thing for sure, all 3 amps "should" provide the necessary power you need.
